The Vast of Night movie review - A great bed time story

I got sort of pissed off on what the heck was going on in the first fifteen minutes. Then it started picking up momentum. Its great way of re-telling the age old story in a very different way. I felt this sci-fic indie was suited for more of a documentary style making. Its fine combination of dialogue driven excitement generation on what happens in a small fictional town. The 1950s retro look was captured beautifully through out with a great finish to the mysterious sound frequency waves. It has an impressive cinematography and some compelling low angle shots which can visually appeal to many. In the end i was happy with this little experimental throwback podcast film. May be the debutant director wanted to pay homage to Spielberg. Take your chance as its no way close to a thrilling mystery plot. The nostalgic slow burner journey may not appeal to all.

Verdict - 3.5/5(A double-edged sword)
