Veera Dheera Sooran Movie Review - Madhura Veeran Returns

Lokesh Kanagaraj's Kaithi was an instant hit with its unique setting and explosive action thriller vibes! Who would have thought someone could recreate that magic? But SU Arun Kumar (famous for Chithha) does just that, in his own style, delivering a paisa vassol outcome.

It's gritty, realistic, and packed with just the right emotional punch. This is Vikram's phenomenal comeback, a perfect stage to showcase his classic flair once again. The BGM is absolutely thrilling, and Theni Eswar's night cinematography is simply top-notch!

How far will you go to protect your family? Kaali (played by Vikram), with a past, is now settled with his family, running a grocery shop. He's reluctantly drawn back into his past, with two opposing parties thirsty for revenge seeking his help. How he navigates this challenge forms the heart of the story. He tries his best to protect each others interests but things gets escalated in unexpected ways every time.

The entire story unfolds over one intense night, ramping up the suspense and tension with a catch. The audience will be clueless for the first 10 minutes as the action kicks off before the context sets in. You will see that pattern repeating and that makes it more interesting to watch. Though the narrative can be a bit heavy-handed, devoid world-building or slow-motion intros (tired of that seeing that ) but the mass scenes are executed brilliantly. Vikram delivers a powerhouse performance with raw intensity that's absolutely mesmerizing! Suraj also has made a neat impression.

The catch part being the film couldn't maintain its momentum to its full extent for sure. Despite some unnecessary tonal shifts and a slightly disjointed storyline, I found this film to be a captivating watch! It's a fantastic addition to Tamil cinema and that marks SU Arun Kumar as a director to keep an eye on!
